In preparation for our departure we decided to make a slew of chocolate chip cookies, something fairly unusual for them, to show our appreciation for our friends in the village. We probably made a hundred! The baby next door loved them, as did the other kids. We walked around the village to say goodbye. Everyone was so friendly and asks when we can come back. Some of the kids even wrote us nice goodbye letters. We were truly touched.
We also finally had the opportunity to buy a big fish caught from our local river. We fried some for lunch and later Oscar made some into delicious empanadas for us. Wow. Incredible! Every time we cook something new I think Wow! This is the best! And then suddenly they cook something else even better! How is it possible I ask myself? TL had fun cooking with her friends and I bought two kinds of locally made Recado spice to bring home.
I can't believe our time here is coming to a close so soon.
